Faith & Fiction is an independent, concept-driven music project founded by Michael Winkler in 2011. Originally a studio experiment, the sound grew louder and heavier with the addition of Jon Barnard, Harry Godwin, and Andrew Britton in late 2013. The band played its first live show in October 2014.
In early 2015, Faith & Fiction released Pariah—a six-track concept EP exploring betrayal and the will to overcome. Their blend of guttural aggression and haunting melody resonated with audiences. The band's reputation grew quickly for emotionally intense performances and story-first songwriting, sharing stages with acts like Norma Jean, He Is Legend, Spoken, War of Ages, and Capsize. But in December 2015—after just over a year of live shows—Faith & Fiction was put on indefinite hold.
Now, in 2025, the project returns after a decade away looking to pickup where it left off. As the project moves forward, each release will deliver an unflinching message paired with music in its rawest form. No polish. No compromise.
Violence. Aggression. Melody. Meaning.
